One: Acrostic

Definition: an acrostic poem is one in which the first letter of each line spells out a word or message.

Running

Ready at the starting line, I feel the gravel
Under my feet, holding me together, upright.
No distance markers can measure,
No music blaring can replace, the rhythm of all our feet
In pure pounding synchrony, gliding,
Not racing, to an invisible finish line-- not that which we
Greet on the blackened asphalt as breathless, euphoric souls running into the sky.
