our handiwork
we started stitching when we met.
thick, rich spools of introduction
adorned our handshake. i did not
want any crooked seams to show.
i backstitched you onto my mind
(we started stitching when we met)
hunched over our fabric corners,
i ignored my hunger. your eyes,
averted, hinted that silence
would feed us. preparing to starve,
we started stitching when we met.
but colored threads frayed, stitches grew
sloppy. now, we shiver under
our quilt, too emaciated
to lament the careless way that
we started stitching when we met.

ReplyDeleteb) to tag, you highlight the text that you want to make into the hyperlink, and then click on the hyperlink symbol (usually blue) when you are writing your post.. then it will ask you to enter a URL where you should enter the site/page that you want to link to those words that you've highlighted
c) i just really love that poem of yours and i wanted to link it somehow...hehe. i guess i was trying to work with loss/emaciation the way you made yours centered around fat... ok ok it's a stretch. next time ;)
I certainly hope you all don't stop. If you get stuck, find someone in the group that might juice things up or just write something you never thought you'd write.
